Fans Can’t Stop Comparing the Music Videos for Shawn Mendes' “Summer of Love” and Harry Styles’ “Golden

Over the weekend, Shawn Mendes dropped the new music video for his latest track, "Summer of Love" and it's three minutes of pure sunshine and fun as the singer and his friends enjoy a gorgeous summer vacation in the Balearic Islands, Spain. Some fans, though, felt the vibes of the video were familiar, and the started comparing it to a recent Harry Styles video.
It all started when a TikTok user, @spamrrysherman, shared her thoughts on the two videos. "Shawn ily but ur new music video looked a little [like] something else I've seen before," she wrote, before giving comparisons between Shawn's new vid and Harry's music video for "Golden" where he is running around the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
Fans also took to Twitter to discuss the comparison further.

Others, though, were not so quick to make the comparison. "As much as I love harry he didn’t invent driving a car in a music video," one person commented on an Instagram post about the videos. "It’s not like it’s a super original idea…" said the other.
Personally, I'm not going to complain, because I thoroughly enjoyed seeing both Shawn and Harry shirtless at the beach. I just hope they invite me next time.
