Fans of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series certainly had an eventful week as Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett both released their brand new tracks and music videos recently. But now that both are out, fans can't help but notice some major similarities between their two big projects.
After Joshua Bassett released his latest single, "Lie, Lie, Lie," Twitter users very quickly compared his music video to Olivia's latest hit, "Drivers License." And trust us when we say that the similarities are kind of surprising, but also pretty normal in music videos.
Joshua and Olivia both have scenes of them laying down and looking at the camera:
And a scene where they're both bent over backyards over a window of a speeding car:
i know lie lie lie by joshua bassett isn’t about olivia but can we talk about the parallels between these two scenes bc uhh pic.twitter.com/eBof2ZD32y

There's another part where they're both driving cars and it looks like the same side profile from the passenger seat:

Then there's another moment where they're both playing a piano:

Honestly, with all these similarities, it's making people wonder whether they had the same idea or if they shared it with each other at some point.
honestly props to the people who are involved in the marketing for these Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett singles because there is NO WAY the similar music videos are a coincidence.

Joshua already shut down rumors that "Lie, Lie, Lie" was about Olivia by revealing that it was actually about an ex-best friend. Fans have also pointed out that he originally wrote the song back in 2019, so it really couldn't be about their relationship.
Either way, you can't deny that each of these songs are total bops and will be stuck on repeat for a while.
