Fans Spotted a Potential Joe Goldberg Photo Error in ‘You’ Season 3
The only thing more enjoyable than binge-watching your favorite show instead of doing work on a Friday? Finding a continuity error in said favorite show (shout-out to the Game of Thrones Starbucks cup, you legend). Which brings us to the third season of You seemingly and inexplicably using a fake Joe in one scene.
According to TikTok user Anna Belle Ryan, via Us Weekly, You appears to have kinda-sorta-maybe-potentially used a totally different person in a photo of Joe that appeared onscreen when Love was texting him.
As the video caption put it, “I’M LOSING MY MIND???? WHO IS THAT?????? IT’S JOEY SILVERBERG.” Meanwhile, commenters added, “Penn Badgley wasn’t available for the photo shoot so they got Peen Badleg from set design to step in and called it a day” and “Why that look like Mike the Situation.”
So, is that Penn? Who knows, but as Today points out, the show *does* use a stand-in for his character every now and then. An actor named Danny Waters reads out Joe’s narration while Penn shoots scenes, which Penn himself confirmed, saying, “Danny reads my voice-overs. It’s really strange. To be honest, it’s very technical. It’s not like normal acting at all.”
Obviously, Danny doesn’t appear onscreen since he’s reading Joe’s lines so Penn can act—but it would be somewhat amusing if the show gave him a shout-out by making him Joe’s text photo icon.
Either way, the people demand answers!!!
