'Rock the Block' Episode Has Fans "Disappointed"Gilles Mingasson

Another week of Rock the Block is in the books, and once again fans have a lot to say about the results. The fourth season of the HGTV series finds Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle (Luxe for Less), Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin (Farmhouse Fixer), Page Turner and Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip), and Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Renovation Island) competing to update identical homes in a Colorado cul-de-sac.

On the fourth episode, teams took on the biggest space in the show's history: the 1,500-square foot unfinished lower level. HGTV's Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) and Veronica Valencia (Revealed) determined the winners.

Bryan and Sarah took their lower level in a spa-like direction. They created a health and wellness space with a breakfast bar, gym, massage room, sauna, and oversize shower. Alison praised the room and Sarah's design but admitted it might not be for everyone. She said, "You truly transformed a lower level into a full-blown spa. But now I'm thinking, this room may be too specific."

Alison and Veronica were impressed by all four houses but ultimately chose Jonathan and Kristina's fun and functional space, which included a bunkroom, full bathroom, bar, arcade, and poolroom. The duo won $4,000 to add to their budget for the next episode.

HGTV shared a clip from the show on Instagram, and the post was bombarded with messages from Bryan and Sarah's fans.

  • "Bryan and Sarah—robbed on basement design!"

  • "Okaaay……what happened this week?!?! Bryan & Sarah Baumler’s design & build was absolutely outstanding!! We respect all the teams but what were the judges thinking?! Sarah & Bryan for the win by far!! (Husband & I were so shocked & displeased we had to express - & we never comment on socials!)"

  • "Disappointed the Baumlers should have won, their designs beat them all. My daughter and I were shocked, I’m not sure what the judges are looking at- go Sarah and Bryan yours beats all - classy and fabulous!"

  • "I can’t believe that the Baumlers were the only ones who made a home gym and yet didn’t win. Disappointing."

Bryan expressed his disappointment that they are still winless after four weeks. He said, "On one level it stings, on the other level we're going to stay the course. We're going to keep doing what we do." Sarah said, "We just have to trust that we are creating the right home for this future homeowner."

Up next, the teams will renovate the exteriors of the homes, and the designs must include a sports-inspired or recreational area. Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt from 100 Day Dream Home will judge.
