Miranda Lambert has lost one of her beloved pets, and she shared a special tribute with her followers on social media. The country superstar is a passionate supporter of shelter animals. Her non-profit, Mutt Nation Foundation, facilitates shelter pet adoption and promotes education. As an animal lover, she has adopted many dogs herself.

Miranda revealed that Thelma, one of her Great Pyrenees dogs, has died. She posted a series of sweet photos, include pictures of Thelma with her other Great Pyrenees, Louise, her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, and the other dogs on her Nashville farm.

The "House that Built Me" singer wrote a moving tribute to Thelma. She explained that she adopted Thelma and Louise to look over the cats, chickens, and mini horses on her Nashville farm "These 2 girls have done that since the day we brought them home."

Miranda continued, "Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our sweet Thelma. She spent her days lounging in the barn and her nights keeping watch over all of us. She lived the last 8 years with no fences, just freedom to do what she did best. Love and protect. I loved her with all my heart. 💙"

Her experience is relatable to anyone who has lost a pet. Miranda said, "It hurts so bad to say goodbye to these sweet companions but their love is always worth it. How lucky are we do get to have friends like Thelma. I am so proud to have been part of her story."

Miranda concluded by thanking her friends and farm managers and encouraged her followers to "love a shelter pet."

Her fans and friends flooded the comments section with words of support. Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town wrote, "Sweet Thelma 💔." Singer Natalie Hemby commented, "😢😢😢 The sweetest little snuggle bear." Country duo Tigirlily Gold added, "Uhh sorry 😢 sending hugs 💗💗." We join them in sending our sincere condolences to Miranda and her family.
