It's been two years since Anthony Bourdain's death and fans have been taking time today to honor his memory by sharing quotes, photos, memories, and musings from the great Chef. Though there are obviously a great many moments we can pick to remember Anthony by, we wanted to share a moment that touched us today.

The moment was actually shared by @ErickFernandez on Twitter this morning, and it shows Anthony visiting Waffle House during an episode of his show Parts Unknown. In the clip, he describes Waffle House with a reverence and a joy that anyone who has downed forkfuls of cheesy hashbrowns will understand.

"It is indeed marvelous," he begins the clip:

An irony-free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. Where everybody, regardless of race, creed, color, or degree of inebriation is welcomed. Its warm yellow glow, a beacon of hope and salvation, inviting the hungry, the lost, the seriously hammered, all across the south, to come inside. A place of safety and nourishment. It never closes, it is always, always faithful, always there for you.

In the larger clip from the show, which you can watch at the beginning of this article, Chef Sean Brock takes Anthony to Waffle House for what is seemingly his first time. He described it as a "magical, spiritual place." After chowing down on waffles, eggs, steak and more, Anthony seems to agree, saying that the food and environment there cuts "right to the center of what makes our country great."

Today is and will likely always be a tough day for those who love Anthony and his work, but one of the reasons why he was so important to so many was the respect and love he gave to all types of food and restaurants. He knew the ability that they have to bring us all closer together.
