Jeopardy! fans are paying tribute to Alex Trebek on what would have been his 83rd birthday today, July 22.

The official Instagram account for the game show made a post in commemoration of the TV icon, with a throwback photo of Trebek on set, accompanied by the text, "Happy Birthday, Alex!"

The caption read, "Celebrating Alex Trebek on what would have been his 83rd birthday 🎂💙," and fans soon followed with tributes for the beloved TV personality, turning the comments into something of a guestbook as viewers shared their fond memories and grief over the loss of the Jeopardy! host.

"Happy birthday to the g.o.a.t of game show hosts," wished one fan.

"I still expect Johnny to say 'Alex Trebek' every day when I watch. Miss ya, Alex," wrote a viewer, in reference to Johnny Gilbert's announcement at the beginning of every episode.

A fan shared, "Miss him each and every day. I miss his snarky humor, yet kind heart. The greatest game show host of all time ❤️." A fellow fan echoed their sentiments, writing, "Happy birthday Alex! You’ll forever be in our hearts and our living rooms. You are so missed! ❤️😢."

Another admitted that "Jeopardy! just isn't the same" without Trebek.

The beloved host passed away on November 8, 2020, following a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He died in his sleep, surrounded by family and friends.
