Blake Shelton's 2024 is not off to a great start after his New Year's Eve performance sparked outrage among fans. Shelton was slated as one of the headliners for New Year's Eve Live: Nashville's Big Bash alongside Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and others. The show was advertised as a series of live concerts counting down the new year and leading up to the music note drop at midnight, though Shelton's performance was not exactly what fans expected.

Blake Shelton, 47, performed songs including "Hillbilly Bone" and "Hell Right" with longtime friend and collaborator Trace Adkins, 61. However, fans quickly discovered the show that aired on CBS on New Year's Eve was not actually live from Nashville as anticipated. The show was pre-recorded ahead of New Year's Eve, though it was recorded in front of a live audience. It seems the issue this New Year's Eve was that Shelton double booked himself. Just five minutes after his Nashville's Big Bash performance aired, he took the stage at the WinStar Casino and Resort in Thuckerville, OK. Fans was quick to point out the discrepancy:

Though Shelton's Oklahoma concert received rave reviews on social media, fans were not as pleased by his Nashville set list. "Big fan of Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins. Their duet “Hell Right” however, is one of the dumbest songs I’ve ever heard," one fan posted on X.

It's clear Blake Shelton had a jam-packed schedule this New Year's Eve, and he even rang in the new year without his wife Gwen Stefani. Gwen was busy with a show of her own in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve. Even though Shelton got off to a rocky start in 2024, we're sure it will be another successful year for the country music superstar.
