Fans Mistake Christie Brinkley's Daughter for Her in Sunny NYC Snap

Christie Brinkley and her daughter Sailor Cook look so much alike that fans mixed up the two.

The honest mistake was made by many in response to the mom of three's latest Instagram post, a carousel of photos documenting the mother-daughter duo's day exploring New York City.

Shockingly, it wasn't the adorable pup in the pictures that caught fans by surprise–it was the fact that the person on the other end of the leash, wearing a trendy leather trench coat paired with straight-leg jeans and loafers, wasn't who they thought it was.

"Gosh. I thought the first picture was you, Christie," one top Instagram comment read. "It looks like you and your girl had a fun day!!"

The May 2 post included a total of eight images taken during the two's recent outing, which included a lovely walk with Lionel (Brinkley's pup) along the scenic waterway and some snaps of color seen throughout the city–including Star Wars-inspired street art and some vibrant flower blossoms.

Her daughter was among those in the comments gushing over the supermodel, writing, "Love you."

"This reminds me of my city adventure with my Stellita!! Aren’t we such lucky mama’s! 💕❤️," fellow actress Gena Nolin exclaimed.

Brinkley, 69, shares her 24-year-old daughter, Sailor, with her ex-husband Peter Cook. The two–who were married for 12 years up until their divorce in 2008–also share son Jack, 27. Brinkley is also the mother to 37-year-old singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel, whom she shares with her ex-husband Billy Joel.
