  • Pamela Anderson, 56, went makeup-free at Paris Fashion Week.

  • Fans adored the fresh, original look.

  • The Baywatch star has recently embraced makeup-free skin as an act of rebellion against conventional beauty standards.

Fashion Week events typically call for dramatic and grandiose looks—but at this year’s Paris Fashion Week, Pamela Anderson let her clothes do all the talking and went makeup-free to the shows she attended.

The Baywatch star known for her ’90s-defining bombshell smokey eyes and frosty pink lips shared highlights from the week on Instagram. She posted a series of photos, in which she wore an oversized three-piece suit, a flowing floral dress, and a plaid trench coat with a matching wide-brimmed hat. “An adventure in Paris with fresh eyes… 🤍,” she captioned the post. “There is beauty in self acceptance, imperfection, and love.

Fans and followers praised the 56-year-old for embracing her natural beauty. “I loooooooove makeup-free Pamela ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” one person commented. “I love that you embraced your age. This is a grand empowerment for every woman!! 👏,” another added. “Thank you for your courage and your true beauty inside and out. 🤍,” someone else wrote.

Even Jamie Lee Curtis, who has spoken about being an advocate of “natural beauty” in the past, dedicated an entire Instagram post to Anderson’s bold move. “In the middle of Fashion Week with so many pressures and postures,” she wrote. “This woman showed up and claimed her seat at the table with nothing on her face. I am so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion.”

And rebellion is precisely what Anderson was going for. In an August interview with Elle, she went into more detail about her decision to venture away from the glitz and glam of her past. She admitted that her signature look wasn’t exactly true to her.

“I just went along with what people were telling me what to do,” she explained. Then, her longtime makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, died from breast cancer. “She was the best. And since then, I just felt, without Alexis, it’s just better for me not to wear makeup,” she added.

Upon relinquishing cosmetics, she found the new look to be “freeing, and fun, and a little rebellious too,” she explained. “Because I did notice that there were all these people doing big makeup looks, and it’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite [of] what everyone’s doing.”

Now, if you scroll through her Instagram, you’ll find just as many—if not more—photos of a fresh-faced Anderson as those of her wearing a full face of makeup: an ode to going against the grain and, yes, getting older. “I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older,” she told Elle. “And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really... what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”
