Fans Lose Their Minds Over 'Last of Us' Halloween Horror Maze

Fans of The Last of Us are in for a real trick treat!

For those who loved watching HBO's adaptation or immersing themselves in the action of the original game, now's your chance to experience it in real life, thanks to Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights; it was announced earlier today, June 15, that the video game inspired the newest haunted attraction at the Florida-based theme park this year.

"Try to Survive The Last of Us," the park wrote on Twitter, teasing the upcoming maze. "Enter the overgrown and perilous world of @Naughty_Dog's video game in real life, as you fight to survive and navigate your way through an abandoned Pittsburgh with Joel and Ellie."

Naughty Dog, the studio behind the massively popular game, shared the same teaser video, writing, "We are THRILLED to announce The Last of Us will be part of Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights! Prepare to encounter Clickers, Hunters, and more as you step into the world of The Last of Us at @HorrorNights and @HorrorNightsORL later this year."

Neil Druckman, co-president of the studio, first teased the idea in December of 2021, questioning who he needed to speak to to get it off the ground on the social media platform. "Who says nothing good comes out of this website?" he wrote when the news broke.

"HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE EVENTS EVER AND THE FACT THAT TLOU IS ACTUALLY GOING TO GET A HOUSE IS INSANE! OH MY F-----G GOD," another tweeted.

"GET HYPED!! SPOOKY SZN IS UPON US!" another celebrated.

Others rolled in with the jokes, tweeting gifs about their hypothetical relations within the maze or what they would look like emerging from it:

The first season of The Last of Us is available to stream on MAX, while Season 2 is currently in pre-production.
