Katie Holmes is famous for pulling out unexpected fashion trends at whatever event she shows up for. But for a recent appearance, she went back to basics and looked great while doing so.

The Dawson's Creek alum attended the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in France to speak at a number of events. She arrived at the Film AlUla's "AlUla Creates" Initiative Panel Event on May 18 and shocked folks with a chic tan pantsuit made by Kallmeyer (you can snag a similar look at Everlane).

The pants portion of Katie's attire stood out, as it featured small pleats at the waistline and it had a matching colored belt. To top it all off, Katie wore a lightweight turtleneck underneath.

Keeping in theme with the neutral colored look, the Batman Begins star kept her accessories and makeup sleek and classic. She accented the suit with a pop of pattern in snake-printed pointed-toed shoes. For jewelry, she wore just a gold chain that overlaid her white top.

When photos from Katie's Cannes appearance began circulating on Instagram, it didn't take long for folks to comment on how gorgeous she looked.

"MAGNIFICENT KATIE. 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥," one person wrote. "Gorgeous beautiful pretty fabulous suit," a different user declared. "Beautiful Katie ❤️," another follower added.

Katie is partnering with AlUla Creates to mentor three female Saudi filmmakers throughout the year.

“I believe that women from all parts of the world should be empowered to follow their ambitions – It therefore brings me great joy to be joining the Film ALULa Creates Program to support and enable female filmmakers from the region," she said.
