Fans Just Discovered Harry Styles Has a Tattoo of His Ex's Name

In addition to his love of flamboyant clothing, Harry Styles is known for having a lot of tattoos. Like, a lot of tattoos. From the instantly recognizable butterfly and swallows on his chest, to multiple date and initials dedicated to family members, song lyrics, and other various pieces of artwork that adorn his body, the pop star is fast running out of space to put new ink.

And in new photos of Styles on vacation in Italy acquired by Page Six, the former One Direction singer has a tattoo that he previously hasn't shown publicly. Wearing a pair of shorts on a boat trip, the name "Olivia" is clearly visible on Styles' left thigh—almost certainly commemorating his ex-girlfriend, actress and filmmaker Olivia Wilde. (Beneath it, he sports the Italian "colazione," meaning "breakfast.")

When Styles and Wilde first started dating, there was widespread speculation that their romance had begun while Wilde was still with Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis. Later on, their relationship became a facet of the complicated ongoing drama that preceded and ultimately overshadowed the release of Wilde's film Don't Worry Darling, in which Styles starred.

Don't Worry Darling premiered in September 2022 to mixed reviews, and just two months later Styles and Wilde broke up.

He's not the first person in the world to end up with an embarrassingly permanent reminder of an ex following a breakup. But here's some good news for the tattoo-happy singer: it's another chance to hit the parlor and cover it up with a brand new piece, like Megan Fox did recently, obscuring the name of her ex-husband Brian Austin Green with a snake and flowers.
