From Woman's Day

Fans of The Masked Singer had been anxiously awaiting when Group C would perform on season three of the celebrity singing competition, and the wait ended last week. Then, on March 18, the second Group C member was unmasked, revealing the Swan's identity to everyone — including the very surprised judges.

Although they'd come close with their guesses — particularly with Ken Jeong guessing some of his co-stars and Jenny McCarthy going down the Bella Swan/Twilight route — they ultimately had no clue until the Swan's mask finally came off to reveal her true identity.

So who was the Swan?

Although the judges guessed people like Nina Dobrev, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kristen Stewart, Kristen Bell, and Olivia Munn, they were all wrong. The Swan was actually actress Bella Thorne.

Some fans had guessed Thorne prior to her big reveal, but not the majority.

So when the Swan was unmasked to reveal Thorne, many viewers were shocked. (So was the judging panel.)

Prior to her unmasking, fans had thought the Swan could have been Evan Rachel Wood because of an "across the universe " clue (a movie she was in), some Frozen clues (Wood was in Frozen 2), and the vampire fangs as a reference to her time on True Blood. Others thought the vampire clues were pointing to Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar. And many others thought it was Kristen Stewart because she played Bella Swan in the Twilight vampire movies. (Jenny McCarthy was on that train.) Ken Jeong also guessed Kristen Bell and Olivia Munn because he'd been in movies with him, and the Swan said she had a connection to Jeong.

However, he never guessed Thorne, who was his costar in The Duff. (Jeong has a history of not being able to guess people he knows, like his Dr. Ken costar Margaret Cho who competed on season one.) Tons of other clues pointed to Thorne that went overlooked by judges and fans alike. A shaker bottle seen in the clue package was a reference to her Disney Channel show Shake it Up. The vampire references were a nod to her record label Filthy Fangs. Oh, and while McCarthy was busy guessing the person who played Bella Swan, she forgot to guess an actress actually named Bella.

So far, season three of The Masked Singer has surprised the fans and judges at almost every turn. They weren't messing around when they made the clues extra hard this year. Who knows who will be unmasked next week, but the judges probably won't guess it right.
