- The Masked Singer season 3 continues with a new episode airing on Fox this Wednesday.
- The new episode will feature guest judge Joel McHale.
- Masked Singer fans are demanding on Instagram that Joel join Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger as a full-time judge.
Since day one, judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nichole Scherzinger have anchored the show with their bizarre guesses, comical analysis, and groan-worthy puns (looking at you, Robin). But now, it looks like viewers at home want an additional panelist: Ken's BFF Joel McHale. Masked Singer viewers may remember Joel from last year when he served as a guest judge for episodes during both season 1 and season 2.
Apparently, he made a lasting impression. When The Masked Singer Instagram account reposted Ken's photo featuring The Hangover star and Soup host together, folks flooded the comment section with praise for Joel.
"Joel needs to be hired as a full time judge," one fan wrote, while several more demanded the same. "Love when Joel McHale is on!" another said. A different fan commented, "Omg @joelmchale is always the best guest judge ... Always SO FUNNY 😂😂😂😂."
While Fox hasn't said anything about Joel officially joining the judging squad, it speaks volumes that the oddball singing show invited him back yet again to guest judge. Still, showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra previously told Good Housekeeping that she's more than happy with the judges they have at the moment.
“I love our panel, they are a great group of people because they are so different from one another," Izzie said. "They complement each other so, so well."
But who knows, maybe when season 4 starts (presumably this fall), Joel will end up scoring a full-time gig. Until we know for sure though, we'll just enjoy the upcoming episode where he'll be stopping by to check out the five remaining competitors in Group C — Night Angel, Astronaut, T-Rex, Rhino, and Swan. Like last time, we're sure Joel will have nothing but hilarious feedback to share.
