Kelly Clarkson proved she can excel at singing any track.

After mesmerizing fans with her cover of The Killers' "Somebody Told Me" for a "Kellyoke" session on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer opted for a classic '80s song the following week.

On the May 18 episode of the talk show, the American Idol alum reimagined Hall & Oates' bouncy hit "Maneater," performing it as a moody ballad instead of going the expected pop route. Clarkson was backed by her band, My Band Y'all, giving the song a bluesy flair. The performance was met with a standing ovation from the audience, who were elated to witness such a unique rendition of a beloved song.

When the video was shared online, many fans voiced their love for Clarkson's version.

"What a hauntingly beautiful performance. Great job Kelly and the band y'all," wrote a fan. Another remarked, "Wow, I didn't even recognize the song until the chorus. The original was a bop, but I really [sic] this jazzy version. And of course Kelly's voice is always next level."

Some fans gave the highest praise, opining that it's better than the original. "I think I like this version 10x's better than the original...stellar performance as always," commented a fan, while another said, "I grew up on Hall and Oats, but Kelly does this better than the original."

If you've been waiting for Clarkson to sing your favorite song, you're in luck! Submissions for "Kellyoke" requests are now open on the show's site.

In addition to gracing fans with a new cover each week for "Kellyoke," Clarkson recently announced her first proper studio album in six years, titled Chemistry. It'll arrive on June 23.
