Fans Are Going Wild Over “The Voice” Coaches’ Rendition of Bob Marley’s “One Love”

From House Beautiful

To get fans pumped for the upcoming season of The Voice, coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani shot a socially-distant performance in the backlot of Universal Studios—and they sounded incredible.

Their song choice? None other than Bob Marley’s “One Love.”

Clarkson shared the performance to Instagram. “There’s lots of ❤️ on #TheVoice this season! Except for @blakeshelton... he gets none 🤣😜 See y’all on October 19th! #TeamKelly,” she wrote in the caption.

In the feel-good video, Legend opens with his melodic vocals while playing the piano. Clarkson appears in a window frame and chimes in to harmonize. Shortly after, Shelton shows up with his guitar, followed by Stefani. Check it out below:

Fans loved the rendition, and flooded the post with comments.

“This made me smile. Beautiful voices ❤️,” one fan wrote. “YOUR VOCALS WERE AMAZING,” another stated.

“That message is needed now more than anything but Marley was so ahead of his time 💕💕💕💕,” one commenter wrote. “This genuinely made my heart happy,” another chimed in.

Singalongs have definitely become a tradition ahead of each season of The Voice. Last year, Clarkson, Legend, Shelton, and former coach Nick Jonas performed Jonas’ hit “Jealous” together.

Marley’s “One Love” seems fitting for 2020, especially amid the coronavirus pandemic. In light of COVID-19, season 19 of The Voice will look a little different this year. NBC announced the show will hold remotely-filmed live performances. All of the coaches and contestants will appear and perform from home, while Carson Daly will host live from a soundstage without an audience.

For the season premiere on Monday, October 19, contestants’ performances will be pre-taped and shown to the coaches in real time. This way, all coach, artist, and host interactions will be live. Viewers are then able to vote for their favorite performance on Mondays via an overnight vote. On Tuesday, NBC will deliver the results, and artists will learn in real time if they will compete for an Instant Save.

Although the changes will take some getting used to, we’re especially excited to see Stefani and Shelton reunited as judges (even if she plans to “destroy her longtime boyfriend this season). Counting down the days until October 19!
