Fans Defend Jennie Garth From Backlash Over Birthday Gift to Daughter

Garth celebrated her daughter's 16th birthday in a big way, and the internet had a lot of opinions about it.
Jennie Garth appears to have ruffled some feathers online.
The Left for Dead star shared what was meant to be a joyous photo of her youngest daughter, Fiona, on her 16th birthday, candidly posing with her birthday gift: A new white BMW.
"Happy new car baby girl," Garth, 51, exclaimed in the caption of the April 5 Instagram post, making sure also to thank the company that worked on the car and gave it a glossy photo finish.
"I 💖you @fionaeveee PLEASE BE CAREFUL🙏🏻," she concluded.
Shortly after sharing the sentimental series of images, some Instagram users began passing judgment on the star and her decision to purchase such a high-value item for a new driver.

"A new BMW? Nothing like a golden spoon…🙄," one Instagram user quipped.
"Getting a new driver a brand new car is never good…they will crash it," another suggested before explaining themselves further, "Not knocking it. Just saying. Never understand why people think this is a good idea."
But her dedicated fan base quickly came to her aid, shutting down the haters with comments that swiftly surpassed any top negative comments.
One of which came from none other than fellow Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Tori Spelling, "Wow!!!!! This is amazing! Hope my 16 year old doesn’t see this lol 😂."
"I don’t see a rich brat I see a hard working mom giving her kid a gift that she worked hard to give her," another exclaimed.
"There is an old wise saying, if you can't say anything nice. Don't say anything. Same applies. If you can't type anything nice. Scroll baby scroll," someone else joked.
Garth, who married actor Dave Abrams in 2015, shares Fiona with her ex-husband and Twilight alum Peter Facinelli. The former couple was married for about 12 years before their 2013 split, and also share two other adult children: Luca, 25, and Lola, 20.
