From ELLE

Taylor Swift recently announced she’s set to be Vogue’s September cover star, and during her interview for the magazine, she gave some pretty telling clues about her new album, Lover.

For one thing, the writer got to listen to “Lover,” the title track of the album. Swift said of the song: “This has one of my favorite bridges. I love a bridge, and I was really able to go to Bridge City.” The writer described the bridge as being “romantic” and “haunting,” before quoting the lyrics: "My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue. All’s well that ends well to end up with you.”

Pause. If Swift’s fans are reading into this correctly, is the pop star hinting at a possible engagement? After all, it’s tradition that brides have something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue on their wedding day, and Swift has been dating actor Joe Alwyn for almost three years. (Plus, Swift is known to leave Easter eggs literally everywhere she goes.)

According to People, Swift even “liked” a fan post on Tumblr that got into this very theory. The post read, “wait … my hearts been borrowed and yours has been blue … something borrowed and something blue … ma’am”

In the past, a source told Us that Swift believes Alwyn is “the one for her” and that she “wants to get engaged to him.” The two have so far been extremely private about their relationship and rarely talk about one another directly in the press. So maybe these lyrics are Swift’s sneaky way of confirming (or at least hinting at) their engagement? Or maybe they mean absolutely nothing, and we’ll have to wait until Lover drops (on August 23!) to parse through the lyrics even more and figure this shit out.
