Fans are calling out Kelly Ripa for taking too many vacations — and she's not having it
If you follow Kelly Ripa on social media, you know that her passport has picked up quite a few stamps this year. So far she and husband Mark Consuelos have squeezed in a Telluride ski getaway, multiple trips to the Bahamas, and, now, a family vacation in Greece.
It’s all so idyllic — unless you’re a Live With Kelly and Ryan viewer who’s annoyed about watching another rerun. Because the morning talk show is live, a host’s absence means that either a guest host must be brought in or an old episode is aired with a prerecorded intro.
Ripa caught some flak from fans who would rather have her back in the studio than soaking up the sun on a dreamy Greek adventure. They made their feelings known in the comments section of a loved-up vacation selfie Ripa posted with her Riverdale star husband.

“How about doing your show that you are getting paid for?” one follower fired back. “Tired of repeats.”
“Kelly, please explain what’s happening with Live!,” another viewer wrote. “Are they repeats? How is it pre-taped? I’m so distraught — nothing to watch with my morning coffee. But have fun on vacay — looks amazing.”
“She’s the only anchor with the whole summer off,” added another commenter, who has since deleted the complaint. “She doesn’t work that hard to begin with.”
Vacation or not, that last one got Ripa’s attention. The 47-year-old star defended her time off and work ethic with a no-nonsense reply.
“I’m not an anchor, I don’t have the whole summer off, and I work extremely hard,” she responded. “Anything else?”
Enough said. Meanwhile, it’s interesting to note that Ripa’s co-host, Ryan Seacrest, has not received as many complaints about taking a vacation — even though he was in France last week and is also traveling in Greece, according to girlfriend Shayna Taylor’s Instagram.
