Fans Are Already Confident They Know Who the Purple Flower Is on 'The Masked Singer'

The Masked Singer season 2 is upon us, and we absolutely love spending every episode analyzing the clues and determining the identity of each and every celebrity contestant. At this point, if there's one masked singer we're absolutely certain we've identified, it's the Purple Flower.
Who is the Purple Flower on The Masked Singer?
You might think we're far too confident in our theory, considering we're still so early in the competition. But we've done our homework, and we're telling you now: The Purple Flower on The Masked Singer is absolutely, definitely ... singer Patti LaBelle.
Still skeptical? We promise that once you hear our argument, you'll know we've got this one right. Here's a look at what we know about the Purple Flower so far:
The Purple Flower has dabbled in every field from "cooking to clothing to craft" and says this show will help her "branch out yet again."
A "Temple U" diploma was shown hanging on the wall in her clue reel.
She won't even go to the grocery store without "lipstick and pumps on."
The Purple Flower has also referenced the number "314" and the word "empire" in her clue reels.
Let's start from the top, shall we? Over the years, Patti has made a name for herself in many different types of work: While most of us know her as one of the most iconic soul artists of our time, Patti has also previously built a name for herself in the food world with a cooking show, cookbooks, and a line of pies sold at Walmart. Then there's the clothing line she started in the early '00s and sold through HSN ... and the honorary doctorate in humane letters that she earned from none other than Temple University in 2010. By adding The Masked Singer (a.k.a. reality TV!) to her already-impressive résumé, Patti would certainly be "branching out" into yet another field — so consider this clue accounted for.
Up next we have the Purple Flower's supposed signature look, which seems to always include makeup and heels, if her grocery store clue is any indication. Patti is actually quite famous for her always-perfect hair and makeup — and way back in 1995, she even told the Chicago Tribune that you would never catch her running errands without it.
"I dare not leave my house without makeup," she said then. "When I get dressed to go to the supermarket, I'm always hooked up. You'll never catch me with a jogging suit on ...I love to look good. And I think it's important to look fierce for your fans."
Lastly, we have to take a look at the references to the number "314" and the word "empire." As it turns out, these hints also clearly point to Patti: Three, one, and four are the first three digits of pi (3.14), which could be alluding to her signature sweet potato pies that are sold at Walmart. As for "empire"? If you take a look at Patti's more recent acting history, this clue makes a lot of sense for her, too — back in 2015, she made an appearance in the season 1 finale of the Fox show Empire. (Yes, we just said she previously made an appearance on a Fox-owned show. Boom.)
If that's not enough proof to convince you Patti is the Purple Flower ... well, we're not sure how to help you. There's no denying that we've figured out who's hiding behind this singer's mask.
