Not everyone agrees with the couple's modified work schedule.

Apparently, Live With Kelly and Mark won't necessarily always be live at all.

Some viewers of the ABC broadcast are less than pleased that the show isn't filmed every single day, after learning via an on-screen disclaimer that Thursday's episode had been pre-recorded.

Mark Consuelos made his Live talk show debut on Monday, joining wife Kelly Ripa, who has helmed the program for over two decades. Former cohosts include Regis Philbin (2001–2011), Michael Strahan (2012–2016), and most recently, Ryan Seacrest (2017–2023).

Given it was the first week of the couple's cohosting duties, many found the taping schedule shocking, and didn't waste the opportunity to express their gripes, taking to social media with their thoughts.

“Three days live, two taped,” one Twitter user raged, as another joined in with, “3 days a week contract, what a joke.”

One disgruntled fan, in particular, speculated that Ripa and Consuelos would only be working three days weekly going forward as part of a deal they cut with the network.

Meanwhile, another wrote: “It would be nice to see an audience again and for the shows to actually be live and not prerecorded,” which is a request that seems to be in the works, according to a callout post encouraging fans to get tickets.

On the other hand, some swooned over Ripa and Consuelos’ on-air pairing.

“Ahhhhh LOVE Kelly & Mark… just the morning show I’ve been waiting for. So glad you two are working together… and doing it SO WELL,” one applauded.

Though some were displeased, pre-recording the broadcast isn't a newly-introduced concept with the addition of Consuelos.

Over the course of the six years Ryan Seacrest filled the seat, episodes of Live with Kelly and Ryan were occasionally filmed beforehand, sometimes in order to accommodate the American Idol host’s busy bicoastal work schedule, where much of his time was split between New York City and Los Angeles.

ABC has not yet clarified how often the show may be pre-recorded on a weekly basis, but in general, we're not opposed to a "three-day workweek!"
