This Fan Recreated Ashley Tisdale’s Most Iconic ’00s Looks

Fashion may be cyclical but some trends leave behind a deeper mark than others. Past low rise jeans and fanny packs, the’00s gave us Ashley Tisdale and her iconic red carpet looks.

If you were a High School Musical stan, Ashley’s most memorable moments look will reign supreme in your memory and now, the Gen Z team is recreating them all for our viewing pleasure.

On April 14, Ellie Addis, a 19-year-old teen from the U.K., posted a series of photos of herself on Twitter recreating three of Ashley's legendary looks from the ‘00s. For her first look, Ellie chose Ashley's signature pink boa, sleep mask combo. She completed the look with a tank top over a long tee, blinged-out heart belt, and slippers.

Next, she went for the classic tee, denim skirt, high socks, and Uggs combo. And lastly, Ashley's sparkly dress moment over light wash jeans. Each recreation is flawless so it’s not surprising that overnight — quite literally — the photos have received over 400,000 likes on Twitter.

"2000's fashion has been recirculating lately and it's even influenced my fashion quite a bit but obviously not every 00's trend is revivable," Ellie told Teen Vogue over Twitter DMs. “It's fun to have a look at the crazy outfits celebrities used to wear during this era and I thought it would be fun to pick one of those celebs to recreate outfits for a YouTube video and in my opinion, Ashley takes the crown — it had to be her."

Out of the three looks, Ellie's favorite was the sequin shrug. "I honestly didn't think it was all that bad and I really felt like I was starring in a Disney Channel series. A lot of people have said that this outfit gave them Hannah Montana vibes which I love."

Ashley's red carpet style from the 2000s certainly has had many meme-able moments since, and rightfully so. Having starred in the High School Musical movies as well as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, she was a queen of Disney Channel at the time and so many young fans looked up to her and her style.

Ellie explained that while some of Ashley's choices may have been a miss, others are still a hit today. "I may have very recently bought a pink juicy couture tracksuit... I love ‘00s fashion and there are a lot of trends such as halter tops, cropped cardigans, platform shoes, tiny purses, etc. that make up a big part of my wardrobe. It's so fun," she explained.

Despite Ellie’s virality, Ashley has yet to respond to the photos but they would likely get the Sharpay Evans stamp of approval.
