Famous Goldendoodle Surprises Fan on Her Last Day of Chemo in Heartwarming Video

There are so many things in life worth celebrating, from major milestones like graduations to little moments like getting through a stressful workday. There's no reason not to pat yourself on the back whenever you deserve it, but some feats deserve the celebration of the century.

Just take it from social media sensation Brodie the Goldendoodle and his fan Yasmil, who just completed her very last round of chemo. Brodie, who's also a service animal, just so happened to be visiting Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida on the day of her last treatment. Luckily, Brodie and his owner got a chance to surprise their superfan at the perfect moment on December 22, and it left everyone with misty eyes and warm and fuzzy feelings.

Congratulations, Yasmil! Going through chemotherapy is no easy task, but she faced it head-on like the badass she is. It's such a wonderful coincidence that Brodie was at the hospital on the same day as her last treatment, too, and it was the perfect way for a dog lover to celebrate.

Unsurprisingly, @brodiethatdood's commenters are praising the girls' positivity and charisma in the wake of such a challenge. She radiates happiness in this video, and it must be so magical for the service dog's owner to know that he's made such a special moment all the more memorable. True, it helps that Brodie is a TikTok-famous Goldendoodle dog, but a fluffy face like that could make folks smile whether or not they're recognizable.

How Dogs Comfort Owners When They Need it the Most

Brodie's celebratory visit with Yasmil is just one example of how dogs can comfort friends and owners in both good times and bad. Canines are known for being empathetic and in tune with their loved one's emotions, so it's no surprise they can read the room and provide gentle interactions with those who need them the most.

Many dogs who are exceptional at these kinds of interactions also excel at being therapy dogs. This is different than being a service dog who is trained to assist with an owner's needs, but it still requires special licensing and training. Therapy dogs often visit retirement homes and hospitals, just like Brodie did, to bring smiles and unconditional love to those who are celebrating, mourning, or even feeling lonely. As many dog owners know, though, a pup doesn't need to be trained in order to put a smile on someone's face! Whether they're official like Brodie or just a loving lap dog, having an animal by your side can change so much.
