'Fall Guys' Turns Free to Play and Heads to Xbox and Nintendo Switch

Almost two years after its massively successful launch, Mediatonic's Fall Guys is now going free-to-play. Aside from PlayStation platforms and PC, the game will also be launching for both the Xbox family of consoles as well as the Nintendo Switch, and all four platforms will offer the game completely free of charge. However, those on PC will no longer be able to download the game via Steam, so you'll have to transition over to the Epic Games Store.

Of course, all platforms will also support cross-play, and you'll be able to link up with your friends through the Epic Games account as well. As for those who did purchase the game originally, Mediatonic will be gifting everyone a Legacy Pack as a thank you, which comes with a special nickname, nameplate, three additional costumes and access to the new premium season pass.

Looking ahead, Miatonic will also be launching a new season for Fall Guys, adding brand new levels as well as gameplay mechanics, modes, and costumes. There'll be a new premium season pass for it that you'll be able to purchase through a new in-game currency called Show-Bucks, and it'll feature 100 levels of progression with even more costumes at your disposal. For those who aren't looking to pay for a pass, you'll still be able to access a free progression ladder with numerous items to unlock.

For those interested, Fall Guys will be completely free to play on June 21.

Elsewhere in gaming, GTA publisher Take-Two Interactive is planning to release eight more remasters by 2025.
