Want to take in all the colors fall has to offer in Northern Colorado? Blink and you'll miss them. Fall foliage dates vary by year, but leaves in the northern mountains — from Denver and Glenwood Springs north to the Wyoming state line, including Rocky Mountain National Park and the Upper Poudre Canyon — typically are at their peak around mid- to late-September, according to the Colorado State Forest Service. Peak viewing in Rocky Mountain National Park was anticipated in the last week of September, according to previous Coloradoan reporting. While killer aspen viewing is expected across Colorado due to this year's cool, wet spring, some closer-to-home fall drives include the Buckhorn Canyon and Pingree Park loop, the Upper Poudre Canyon, Rocky Mountain National Park and the Peak to Peak Highway from Estes Park to Central City.
