Fall Bridal Trend 2024: Little White Dress
Thought mini was just for skirts? Think again.
The short hemlines of the runways have reached the bridal market, as seen across fall 2024 presentations at New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week, where designers continued to modernize wedding day fashions.

While the spring bridal collections riffed on the idea that skin is in — even for walking down the aisle — through one-shoulder silhouettes and corsetry details (also present this season), minidresses are perhaps the most extreme version of the idea.
The trend directly plays into the uptick of brides wanting more than one outfit for their wedding weekends, which many designers displayed, and noted, throughout their fall collections. For instance, leg-baring, dance-floor-ready reception and after party looks filled with transparencies, mix-and-match separates and festive embellishments, as seen from Honor, Kyha Studios, Lihi Hod, Theia, Sareh Nouri, Nadia Manjarrez, and Vera Wang Bride.
Designer Monique Lhuillier designed options for “fashion’s It-girl,” with interchangeable jackets, dimension, sculpted corsetry, and most notably, diverse hemlines, collection notes read. The idea could be see through sculpted minidresses with statement veils and detachable overskirts and lace sleeves.
For brides seeking simplistic, civil cerermony and non-traditional occasion dress, see Halfpenny London’s latest mini Mikado minidress, the Molly, with full-circle skirt; Jenny Yoo’s sleek and chic short number (accessorized with short white gloves and cat-eye sunglasses), or Rebecca Valance’s corseted frock.
The short hemline trend further encompasses many micro trends, including minimalism (as seen from Kyha Studios and Sebastien Luke), bold floral blooms (Viktor & Rolf Mariage, Ines di Santo and Kaviar Gauche) and bows (a la Elie Saab).
