MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Joining us is Antoine Brown with Activate Church in Pensacola. We want to talk about Jesus’ resurrection. Why did Jesus come to Earth in the first place?

Guest: I believe there are two key reasons that he came. Number one, according to first John, was to destroy the works of the devil.

And then also to restore kingdom order. And by restoring Kingdom order, what he had to do was activate Kingdom authority and man again.

Anchor: Let’s talk a little bit more about that. What authority do we possess when we believe?

Guest: Oh, man, we believe we have the authority to overcome opposition circumstances. Anything that would normally try to subdue us. We have the authority to subdue it. That sickness, disease, poverty, everything.

Anchor: So how do we use or hold fast to the believer’s authority when fighting temptation, fighting the devil and things of that nature?

Guest: Oh, it’s a powerful story. In the book of Matthew, chapter four, where Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, and Satan came at him with everything he could. And the one thing that Jesus did was he kept saying, “It is written. It is written.” So when we hold fast to the word of God, our confession, hold fast to our profession of faith, then there’s nothing really that the devil can attach to us.

Anchor: What are some ways we can access and use the spiritual tools that God has given us?

Guest: Well, the most powerful tool that He’s given us is faith. It’s like a Swiss army knife of all the tools.

And faith can overcome any opposition.

And the way to use it is to simply ask God…for He told us in the book of James that if you lack wisdom, ask me for it and I’ll give it to you liberally.

So anything that we need to know in terms of using what God gave us, he’ll tell us.
