Fifth Sunday Fellowship Services to be held Oct. 29

Fifth Sunday Fellowship Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 at 538 Wayne Street, Mansfield. The host church will be the New Life Baptist Church congregation. The speaker will be Pastor Clarence J. Sanderfer.

Fellowship Services will include Dr. Laurence Rawls and Mt. Sinai Baptist Church congregation, and the Rev. Dr. Derek Williams and The New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church congregation.

All are welcome to attend Fellowship Services.

Mansfield church to host special service

First English Lutheran Church at 53 Park Avenue West in Mansfield will celebrate Reformation and Holy Communion during worship at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29. It will be followed by a German-themed potluck lunch. Members will be making various genuine German recipes to share with everyone as they also enjoy brats and hot dogs.

The worship service and luncheon are open to all.

Trunk-or-Treat set for Oct. 28 in Shelby

SHELBY — Shelby's First Lutheran Church is gearing up for a spooktacular Halloween event that will delight children and adults alike. On Oct. 28, the church will host a Trunk-or-Treat extravaganza in its parking lot at 33 Broadway, Shelby. The fun is set to kick off at approximately 2:15 p.m., right after the Halloween Parade passes the Broadway/Main Street intersection, and will continue for about an hour.

First Lutheran Church is transforming its parking lot into a Halloween wonderland where church members will park their theme-decorated cars, don costumes, and distribute candies to young trick-or-treaters. This event promises a safe and enjoyable environment for children to collect their Halloween goodies while admiring the creativity and imagination behind the decked-out cars. All children from the community are welcome to join in on the fun.

Mural painting, Halloween dance at Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 525 W. Cook Road in Mansfield will host a Drawn to the Word worship and artistic experience where artist and Pastor Paul Oman will paint a larger-than-life-size mural at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25. This story will unfold artistically, musically, narratively and scripturally during the event. All are welcome.

The church will also hold its annual Halloween Dance from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 28. Costumes are not mandatory. Guests may bring a "fingerfood" for sharing if planning to eat. Tea and coffee will be provided. The cost is $10.

Mansfield church to host rummage sale Oct. 27-28

Mansfield 1st EPC at 399 S. Trimble Road will hold its fall church rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 27 and 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 28. This semi-annual rummage sale will feature a large selection of clothing for children and adults, shoes, books, toys, housewares, furniture and much more.

All Souls welcomes guest speaker Sunday

BELLVILLE — All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church of Bellville, 25 Church St., welcomes the Rev. Dr. Elaine Strawn as guest speaker at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The title of her presentation will be “Decentering Self as a Spiritual Discipline.”
