At 24 years old, TikTok sensation Bella Poarch has the internet on lock. With nearly 14.3 million followers on Instagram and roughly 87.3 million on TikTok, she is dominating the social space. Not to mention, she is the third-most-followed person on TikTok behind Charli D'Amelio and Addison Rae. The Filipina American came to power when she went viral on TikTok with her lip-sync to Millie B’s “M to the B” in August 2020, setting herself apart from others on the app with intricate facial expressions and a love of high fashion and anime costumes.
While Bella’s page consists mostly of lip-sync videos and her renditions of the newest dance trends, the TikTok star has also become an advocate for the Asian-American community. Most recently, she tackled unrealistic beauty standards in her debut single “Build a Bitch,” accompanied by a music video featuring cameos from influencers ZHC, Valkyrae, Mia Khalifa, Dina, Sub Urban, Bretman Rock, Rakhim, and Larray. According to Forbes, Bella is the fourth highest-paid personality, following Charli D'Amelio, Dixie D'Amelio, and Addison Rae. Bella earned an estimated $5 million in 2021, due in part to her burgeoning music career and sponsorships deals with Moncler, Google, Tinder, NYX Cosmetics, and more.
Bella Poarch and Bretman Rock are cousins
Internet stardom runs in the family. In June the two shared that they were cousins in a YouTube video making tie-dye clothing. They are both from the Philippines and met when they were kids in Pangasinan where Bella was born.
Bella Poarch is a veteran
At the age of 18 she enlisted in the Navy, looking for freedom and independence. During that time, she was stationed in Japan and fell in love with the culture. In an interview with Vogue she said, “The Navy taught me one thing: that you can’t do everything on your own – you have to have a great family of people around you to trust and achieve great things.”
She hails from Texas
While she was born in the Philippines, Bella was raised in Texas from the age of 13 before she joined the Navy.

Since gaining her fandom, she has received backlash for a controversial tattoo.
After posting her first video, the star received backlash for a Rising Sun tattoo on her arm. The Rising Sun is deemed offensive by some in East Asia as it was a symbol used by imperial Japanese during World War II. Bella apologized for the tattoo on Twitter.

Bella Poarch joined the likes of Marshmello, Ninja, Lachlan, and other big creators in the ICON emote series for Fortnite.

Her single “Build a Bitch” holds a spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart
Bella’s first single debut at No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Build a Bitch” also did well internationally, landing at No. 14 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 24 on the Billboard Global 200.
Bella Poarch is set to go on tour
Bella will be touring with Sub Urban on the “Virgil’s Mania Tour” in 2022 and 2023. They were supposed to start shows in September 2021, but it was cancelled by Sub Urban. New tour dates have not yet been announced.
