This Face Mask Hack Is About to Make Your Life a Lot More Comfortable

Wearing a face mask is going to be a part of our reality for…well, who knows how long, but they&aposre definitely not going anywhere anytime soon. (And if for some reason you&aposre still not following the guidance of the CDC, doctors, and scientists to wear a mask, now would be a very good time to start.)

You can now find really chic and adorable masks in a variety of styles online and, with them, tips to make them easier and more comfortable to wear. Yes, the internet is sometimes still a good and useful place!

One common issue many find with wearing a mask for any length of time is the irritation caused by the straps hooked behind your ears. Turns out, you probably have the solution to this problem somewhere in your bathroom: a couple of barrettes. The hack first bubbled up online earlier this spring thanks to Instagram user hairstylist @omgartistry—but now that we&aposre in the heat of summer, it&aposs even more relevant.

“Mask Hack. Ears hurt? Grab a clip to hold back mask. And not to mention it looks so cute,” she wrote in the caption, alongside a mini tutorial. The process is fairly simple: You pull the elastic of your mask strap back away from your ears and secure with any sort of clip or barrette of your choosing.

Genius. Why didn&apost we think of that sooner?
