Ezra Miller Is the Red Lipstick Icon We Need Right Now

At this point, it shouldn't have to be said: Anyone of any gender can wear makeup. Seriously, duh. However, it still strikes a lot of onlookers as a surprise when someone who usually presents as masculine chooses to wear any kind of makeup more detectable than concealer. That may be why Ezra Miller's most recent look is getting a fair amount of attention; but the reason I can't take my eyes off of him is because the lipstick he wore to a Paris Fashion Week show is just so good.

Vogue reports that Miller attended the Saint Laurent fall 2019 runway show wearing a shaggy black jacket with silver lurex threads, a black mesh top, a single silver earring, black nail polish, and, most notably, a bold red lip. The deep, berry-tinted color had a glossy yet opaque finish. My best guess about what shade it is? Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Vinyl Cream Lip Stain in Rouge Vinyle.

Miller regularly forgoes makeup for public appearances, but this definitely isn't the first time the actor has been seen wearing lipstick. In November, GQ published an interview with Miller featuring gorgeous photos of him in a variety of lipstick-centric beauty looks. "I was pleasantly surprised and overjoyed by how much room there was for my very strange and fluid expressions," he told GQ about the shoot, telling the publication that while his gender identity is fluid, he's comfortable with any pronoun. "I let he/his/him ride, and that's fine."

That same month, Miller made multiple red-carpet appearances wearing lipstick and making it perfectly clear that he doesn't have one signature shade. At the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund event, he wore a glossy brown lip color.

At the world premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, Miller famously wore a black, floor-length, puffy Moncler coat and a dramatic reddish-black lipstick.

And at the U.K. premiere of The Crimes of Grindelwald, he paired a frosty, pale-pink lip with silver shimmer around his eyes and in his hair.

I'm excited to see that he didn't stop wearing lipstick in November, and even more excited to see the looks he serves up for the rest of 2019.
