Our expert guide on how to find your perfect lipstick shade

Kenneth’s  ultimate lip tips 

1. Always prep skin before you apply colour. I love a lip mask that plumps and hydrates – try Lip 20 Mask by Kaplan MD, £37. This helps products to stay on for longer.

2. To make teeth appear whiter,  keep to cooler blue-toned reds, rather than anything too orange. 

3. For a modern finish, avoid liners and apply straight from the bullet, then pat  the outline with a fingertip for a fresh and sexy effect. 

4. Apply a deeper  or more vibrant shade in the centre of lips to create  a fuller effect.

5. When buying  a nude, don’t go too pale as you  might look sickly. Try one shade darker than your natural  lip colour for a flattering finish.

6. Don’t be afraid  to combine textures. Use matt colours for longevity, but top with a little bit of shine in the centre of lips to catch the light.
