Exclusive! Watch the Little Blue Smurfs Take Down J.B. Smoove on 'Password'

As a result of its popularity from being played on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, NBC rebooted the iconic game show Password this summer, hosted by Keke Palmer and starring Jimmy Fallon, who each week faces off against a new celebrity rival.

Celeb challengers to date have included Jon Hamm, Heidi Klum, Meghan Trainor, Martin Short, and tonight will find J.B. Smoove taking on Jimmy to see who can guess the password.

When Keke hands out the password and it is Smurf, Jimmy decides to pass, which means that J.B. has no choice but to play. Will he be done in by the little blue creatures?

“There’s a lot of ways to go with this one,” says the actor, who starred in in The Smurfs 2 movie, and his partner says, “Go the right way.”

J.B. comes up with the perfect clue: Gargamel. What is more Smurfy than that?

Unfortunately, J.B.’s partner for this round of Password has never heard the word before, and guesses “butter.”

Meanwhile Jimmy’s partner gives him a big smile, because she has watched the Smurfs and knows the answer before Jimmy gives her his clue, which is “Papa,” and she guesses correctly.

Keke then said, “Apparently, that was a great clue. But I was with you, Ryan, when he said, ‘Gargamel,’ I said, ‘Who is that?’ I didn’t know it either. J.B., who is Gargamel?”

J.B. explained, “Gargamel was the enemy of the Smurfs.”

And the audience acknowledged that they, too, knew who Gargamel was.

Password airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, following America’s Got Talent.
