Exclusive: Simple Skincare Is Launching $3 Sheet Masks

Obsessed with Korean beauty? Join the (ever-expanding) club. Lucky for you (and your wallet), your membership doesn't require that you cash in your frequent flier miles to enjoy the best of Seoul's skin care. Nowadays, the K-beauty influence is prevalent just about everywhere you turn around. (Hell, it's even stocked front and center on Target's shelves.) And now, you'll soon be able to stock up on your beloved sheet masks during your next TP run to Duane Reade. That's right, sheet masks are coming to a drugstore near you.
Simple Skincare, the skin-care brand best known for its Best of Beauty-winning Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes, is expanding its sensitive skin-friendly line to include — you guessed it — sheet masks.
Similar to the skin treatments you know and love from Seoul, Simple's two new masks — De-Stress Sheet Mask and Water Boost Hydrating Sheet Mask — are drenched in serum and made to be worn on freshly cleansed skin for about 15 minutes. But perhaps what sets these apart from other K-beauty-inspired treatments, is that Simple's masks are formulated without the ingredients best known for angering sensitive skin (i.e. fragrance, artificial colors, etc.).
Instead, in the De-Stress Sheet Mask (my personal fave, FYI), you'll find aloe, a natural skin-soother and anti-inflammatory, and in the Water Boost Hydrating Sheet Mask, there's pentavitin, a plant extract apparently "identical to skin," in that it binds to skin cells and "acts like an invisible plaster to lock-in moisture and increase skin hydration." Bottom line: It's super moisturizing.
Simple isn't the only drugstore brand jumping on the sheet mask train in the coming months. St. Ives and Ponds are following suit with their very own takes on the K-beauty trend, set to launch January 2018. St. Ives, the brand that brought you the cult-favorite Apricot Facial Scrub you most likely used while battling teenage acne and angst, is dropping three sheet masks — Glowing Sheet Mask – Apricot, Revitalizing Sheet Mask – Acai, Blueberry & Chia Seed Oil, and Soothing Sheet Mask – Oatmeal — each made with natural extracts to exfoliate and give you glow-y skin in just 10 minutes.
As for Pond's masks, there are two — Hydrate + Glow Sheet Mask and Hydrate + Firm Sheet Mask — and each is formulated with supersoft eucalyptus-derived fiber sheets. Hydrate + Glow does exactly that, thanks to an exfoliating cocktail of papaya extract, plus nourishing vitamins B3 and E, while Hydrate + Firm is jam-packed with heavy-hitting hydrators (hyaluronic acid, collagen, and agave extract) to moisturize and plump-up skin.
The seven masks from Simple Skincare, St. Ives, and Ponds will retail for $2.50 each and will be sold in drugstores nationwide, beginning January 2018. But, lucky for you, Simple's sheet masks will soon be available at Walgreens stores, come November. (In the meantime, scoop up one (or two!) of these budget-friendly masks.)
