Set on 14 acres of orchard-dotted rolling hills in Bernardsville, New Jersey, about 40 miles from New York City, Lindenhaus will combine a members-only social club with a wellness retreat.

Occupying a former private residence that originally belonged to businessman Colonel Anthony R. Kuser and would eventually serve as the home to his then daughter-in-law, Brooke Astor, the sprawling mansion known as Faircourt was constructed in 1897. Inspired by Tuscan villas, the estate features iron gates, a marble-columned foyer, oak paneling, and ornate plasterwork, all of which were preserved and restored when architect Annabelle Selldorf was brought in to infuse modernity and build a contemporary wing for new owners more than a century later.

Now, it’s gearing up for its next life as Lindenhaus’ flagship property, opening in September 2023.

With a holistic approach to wellness, members will find a variety of facilities at Lindenhaus. In addition to a state-of-the-art fitness center with yoga and meditation studios, you’ll find a heated outdoor pool and full-size hard court on the landscaped grounds. The spa features hyperbaric chambers, cryotherapy, and a wood-fired sauna, allowing for both pampering and healing. An on-site restaurant serves seasonal fare utilizing locally sourced ingredients and includes menus curated by renowned chefs as well as pop-up appearances with famed culinarians. There’s even an artist studio that has been designed to stimulate creativity, providing a space for painters, writers, recording artists, podcasters, and the like to practice their craft.

The goal of Lindenhaus is for members to improve their overall well-being, which is why the property will also host multi-day wellness retreats with a dedicated guide. Whether you’re looking for a program that’s centered around nutrition, athletic performance, self-empowerment, or a lifestyle reset, the in-house experts are prepared to curate a track that’s fitted to your needs. And if you decide to embark on an immersive journey, or are coming to Lindenhaus from afar, the property has 12 suites where you can rest your head. The sumptuous digs have been optimized for a quality night’s rest — ideal sleep temperature, remote-controlled blackout curtains, personalized ambient sounds, weighted bamboo blankets — and are kitted out with a thoughtfully curated set of amenities, like Brooklyn Candle Studio diffusers and natural Herbivore Botanicals skincare products. To top it all off, the club will host a myriad of on- and off-site events that include art exhibitions, book signings and discussions, educational lifestyle and health workshops, cooking lessons, yacht parties, golf outings, and more.
