It's Drew and Jonathan Scott's 45th birthday today! The twins of HGTV's Property Brothers fame recently shared some wild and hilarious new details about their birth with us—including how one of them was a total surprise.
During a chat with House Beautiful editorial director Joanna Saltz at The Future of Eco-Conscious Living Virtual Summit, the Scott brothers revealed that Jonathan is the older sibling. Drew added: "Most people don't know this: I was a surprise! So imagine, you are told you have one baby coming and then you give birth... the nurses finish up and are getting ready to leave, and the nurse is like, I think there's another baby, and then out I came. So, surprise! My mom's first words were, the doctor said, or the nurse said, I think there's another one, and my mom said, Oh shhhh--!"
Honestly, a fair reaction from Mom! Having twins is a surprise in itself, but not knowing that you're having twins until the very moment the second baby makes his appearance is next-level shocking. Shoutout to Mom for that perseverance, which gave us one of our favorite home-reno duos.
All surprises aside, the brothers' loved ones are sharing sweet wishes in honor of their special day. Drew's wife, Linda Phan, posted photos on Instagram with the caption, "Life is like a bowl of apples…😆 Happy birthday to my love. I’m so happy you were born 🥰☀️."
Jonathan's girlfriend, the actress Zooey Deschanel, recently shared a throwback photo with him, captioning it, "My favorite photo booth partner." We expect she may dedicate another post to the birthday boy at some point today. In any case, cheers to the brothers on their big day!
