Exclusive: This New Luxury Apartment Building Will House Brooklyn’s Priciest Rental

A sleek new residential building in Brooklyn called The Torre House—meaning “tower” in Italian—offers ultra-luxe amenities, epic city views, and the borough’s priciest apartment rentals.

The 10-story development at 124 Columbia Heights is nearing completion and has officially begun leasing, Robb Report exclusively learned. Monthly rents start at $5,175, and the 96 residences range from studios to three bedrooms. Plus, there’s one enviable four-bedroom duplex asking a potentially record-setting $33,990 per month; the priciest lease available on the open market in Brooklyn is currently a Brooklyn Heights townhouse that’s asking a cool $27,500 per month.

The historic tower, which is adjacent to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, has a storied past. It was the former site of a four-story brownstone that belonged to abolitionist Henry Ward Beecher from 1856 to 1881. In 1901, the brownstone was purchased and expanded upon by the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who used the residence as the living quarters for staff members of the organization. The building was sold in 2016 and reimagined by New York City-based firm HS2 Architecture.

The residences offer unobstructed views of the Brooklyn Bridge and are packed with high-end finishes. You’ll find Mohawk hardwood flooring throughout and, in the kitchen, large islands, top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, and Caesarstone countertops. Elsewhere, bathrooms come complete with Carrara marble, honed Italian tile, and illuminated vanity mirrors.

Additional building amenities include three pools, one of which is located on the rooftop, while another sports a custom-painted mural by street artist Blake “KEO” Lethem—best known as the creator of the MF Doom Mask. There are also two spas, a fitness center, a golf simulator, and a community workspace.

“With its luxury amenities, exquisite design, and especially its prime location—one of the most sought-after in the world—The Torre House is truly a game-changer that has elevated luxury rentals to new heights,” says Vicki Negron of The Corcoran Group, who’s handling the leasing.
