Exclusive: Get a First Look at HGTV's 2022 Smart Home in Wilmington, NC

In the market for a new home? If you're feeling lucky, now may be your chance to snag your dream home for free (yup, you read that right!). For the tenth year, HGTV is handing over the keys to their newly-built and fully-furnished 2022 Smart Home, which the network exclusively tells House Beautiful is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. And if that wasn't enough, the network is also throwing in a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 and $100,000 from LendingTree for a total prize package worth $1.2 million. If you want to play your hand at this life-changing opportunity, entries open at 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, and close at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, June 10, 2022. Participants can enter up to two times a day on HGTV.com.

The 3,000 square-foot home was designed by Tiffany Brooks for the eighth year in a row and was constructed by local builder Charter Building Group. Equipped with high-tech interiors, the two-story cottage is at once modern and charming. "This year's home is a luxurious waterside oasis, encompassing dream-like design with smart living that will provide the winner with the best of all worlds," says Brooks. "Leaning into the city's outdoor lifestyle, the HGTV Smart Home captures the essence of Wilmington with sophisticated coastal design and solutions from the kitchen to the outdoor garden that will enhance the lifestyle of the modern homeowner."

With three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and expansive front and backyards, the Wilmington pad is an entertainer's dream. Visitors are greeted with a sense of comfort as they step onto the wrap-around porch thanks to cozy swing seating, perfect for taking in the fresh air. Once you enter the home, you'll step into an art-filled foyer that connects to a moody office space. From there, you'll be met with the home's state-of-the-art kitchen, which is, of course, tricked out with all the latest and greatest technology (there's even a home automated voice command system throughout the entire home!). In the living room, hosts can take advantage of the room's built-in wet bar and fireplace to entertain guests.

The main bedroom, which is located on the first floor, features a luxurious ensuite bathroom and opens up to a private patio. Upstairs, the guest bedrooms are a nod to Wilmington's coastal lifestyle with a soft, natural palette of blues, beiges, and burnt orange. If the lucky winner has kids, they'll love the playroom that opens up to the deck overlooking the home's pool.
