Oscars night is all about taking home the gold, so it's only appropriate that presenter Lupita Nyong'o positively gleamed during the big night in a Klimt-worthy gold Prada gown. But, of course, there's more to a dynamic Academy Awards look than the dress—in fact, there may be no bigger night of the red carpet year for gorgeous, glittering gems.
To match her sparkling look, Nyong'o donned stand-out gems from De Beers: The Alchemist of Light ‘Light Rays’ Crown Ring, which features 2.93 carats of fancy vivid orange and white diamonds in a titanium and 18k white and rose gold; Reflections of Nature ‘Motlatse Marvel’ Earrings which uses 5.48 carats of fancy deep orange, pink, and white diamonds in an 18k white, yellow, and rose gold setting to echo the light across the Motlatse Canyon in South Africa; and a Reflections of Nature ‘Landers Radiance’ Cluster Ring, which is designed to evoke the beauty of South Africa's Landers Reef, featuring 7.24 carats of fancy brown, orange, yellow, pink, and white diamonds in 18k yellow, white, and rose gold.
"The Light Rays Crown ring from the ‘Alchemist of Light’ collection could not be more perfect because it mimicked the detailing of the dress," her stylist, Micaela Erlanger, told T&C. "The pink and yellow diamond earrings and statement ring from the 'Reflections of Nature' collection added the perfect pop of color. You don’t ever want your jewelry to compete with your dress, rather you want them to enhance each other. These pieces effortlessly did just that."
