Being able to actually see furniture and wall art in your space before bringing them home from the store or hitting "confirm order" online would save so much time. And while some stores have cool gadgets to make it a bit easier for you (like Walmart's shop the room tool), nothing's foolproof, so having the ability to exchange things is absolutely necessary.
Thankfully, most of your favorite home stores have pretty flexible return policies. To pull one out of the bunch, Ikea's is quite simply a dream...and Target? Well, theirs isn't half bad either. Needless to say, you don't have to worry so much the next time you bring home a rug that's too small for your room or a chair that looks too bulky next to your fiddle leaf fig tree. AllModern: 30 Days
If an item is returned to AllModern in new condition and in its original packaging within 30 days of delivery, you will receive a refund back to the original form of payment, minus the shipping costs. Anthropologie: 60 Days
Unwashed, unworn, unaltered, or defective merchandise can be returned to Anthropologie within 60 days of the delivery date will receive a refund in the original form of payment, while those returned after 60 days will receive merchandise credit. Returns without the original receipt will qualify for an exchange for something that is of equal or greater value. Birch Lane: 30 Days
Merchandise can be returned to Birch Lane for a refund (minus the cost of shipping) within 30 days of delivery in original condition and packaging. Some exceptions include: clearance items, gift cards, personalized items, 'non-returnable' items, items purchased as a bundle, and items that have been assembled. CB2: 30-90 Days
To return or exchange furniture, rugs, and rug pads, CB2 must be contacted within seven days of delivery or pickup to arrange a return and must then be returned within 30 days with proof of purchase and in good condition (unused). A re-stocking fee will apply. To return or exchange non-furniture items, you must do so within 90 days of receipt with a valid proof of purchase and in good condition (unused and unwashed). Crate & Barrel: 30-90 Days
Just as at CB2, to return or exchange furniture, rugs, and rug pads, Crate & Barrel must be contacted within seven days of delivery or pickup to arrange a return and must then be returned within 30 days with proof of purchase and in good condition (unused) with a re-stocking fee. To return or exchange non-furniture items, you must do so within 90 days of receipt with a valid proof of purchase and in good condition (unused and unwashed). Home Depot: 90 Days
Most new, unopened merchandise sold by The Home Depot can be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund in the form of the original purchase, unless otherwise noted. If the purchase was made with a Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge, or The Home Depot Commercial Account, you have 365 days from date of purchase to receive a full refund. HomeGoods: 30 Days

Initiate a return on your Houzz merchandise in its original condition and packaging within 30 days after delivery for a full refund. Most new, unopened merchandise can be returned with proof of purchase to Lowe's within 90 days of purchase for a refund in the form of the original purchase, with some exceptions. Pier 1: 45 Days
An exchange or refund will be granted for merchandise returned to Pier 1 within 45 days of the original purchase date in its original condition and with a receipt, while My Pier 1 Rewards members have 60 days to return or exchange your purchase.
