This Week's Episode of "Gossip Girl" is the Last One We're Getting for a While

Nearly a decade after we found out Dan Humphrey was the face behind the infamous Gossip Girl blog the show returns with a new style to appeal to a 2021 audience. Show runner Joshua Safran. a writer on the 2007 series, has revived the beloved teen drama for the social media era, installed a new cast, and wasn't shy about leaning into the decadence of it all.

Just like their older counter parts the new class at Constance Billard and St. Jude's are being watched: A new iteration of the old Gossip Girl blog has joined Instagram, and it seems to know everything about the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. And you won't find exact renditions of Serena Van Der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, or Dan Humphrey in this reboot you can expect the same energy from this class of Upper East siders from Julien Calloway, her half-sister Zoya Lott, and the brewing drama at Constance Billard and St. Jude's the new generation Gossip Girl won't disappoint.

The first five episodes are already out, and one more will be coming on August 12. After that, though, the series will then take a break before dropping the final six installments in the fall. As of now, HBO hasn't revealed when the second half of season one will premiere.

In order to watch the revival, you need is a subscription to HBO Max, which you can purchase for $14.99 a month if you want ad-free viewing, or $9.99 a month if commercials don't bother you.
