Exactly How to Get the Crystal Cat-Eye the Models Wore at Prada

Your go-to beauty look just got a seriously blinged out update thanks to Prada's FW18 fashion show.

The Italian fashion house sent models down the runway in Milan sporting brightly-colored cat-eyes accessorized with Swarovski crystals. Created by legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath, the purple and bright blue shadow was applied in bold, exaggerated triangles, which gave off some majorly futuristic, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century style vibes. Glittery crystals completed the look.

“It’s sporty, but elegant in a showgirl kind of way,” Pat told Vogue backstage at the show. To get the look, Pat used the new La Vie En Rose eye palette from her namesake collection, which won't be available to those of us not backstage at Milan Fashion Week until March 7th. And she's doing her part to help tease the product, too. "Prepare to luxuriate in total lavishment, with an obsessively opulent melee of vivid violets, risqué plums and the euphoric glow of incendiary golds," she wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday with a sneak peek at a stunning purple shadow.

When you do finally get to try it out for yourself, you'll at least know exactly how to replicate the electric eye from Prada thanks to Pat's Instagram explainer. First, define the lash line with Purple Reign and Rose Risque shadows from the new collection, then smoke it out into a wing. Then, brighten the inner corner of the lower lash line with that same rosy color and add some Swarovski crystals for good measures. Finally, add a touch of mascara and voilà — you're runway ready.

And the best part? No need for a perfect flick when you're covering it with crystals. 🙌🏻
