Chris Hemsworth, the hunky actor known for playing the Norse god of thunder, Thor, in the Marvel movies, is also a surfing fanatic. And through his pursuits in surfing, Hemsworth has befriended many elite waveriders, even Kelly Slater.

So, when Hemsworth turned 40 years old the other day – August 11th – he celebrated with a surf session with his brother and fellow actor, Liam, and former CT competitor, Owen Wright, down in Hemsworth's home-base of Byron Bay

And another ex pro surfer honored Hemsworth’s big four-oh with this video below.

Paul Fisher, now known by his stage name Fisher, shared a video compilation of him and Hemsworth to celebrate the actor’s birthday, featuring antics from a trip to Bali.

"Mate, I should really stop drinking coffee," Hemsworth says in the clip. "It makes me too f*ckin' panicked." To which, Fisher breaks out in his trademark cackle.

Captioning the post, Fisher wrote:

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAAAA LOVE YOU LONG TIME ❤️❤️ HERE’S TO MANY MORE LAUGHS MATE @chrishemsworth

And on Hemsworth’s own ‘gram, birthday love from the surf world poured in:

“Happy bday big rig 🙌” – Taj Burrow

“Happy bday brah” – Owen Wright

“Happy birthday big boy! 🔥” – Italo Ferreira

As we previously reported, Hemsworth has admitted to being quite obsessed with surfing, although saying, “There are far worse addictions out there.”

“It was all I thought about the entire week,” he continued. “I didn’t really have much of a social life during high school. I wasn’t really going out to parties. All I wanted to do was surf and watch movies. It kept me out of trouble, I think.”

And Thor’s still surfing – and dropping hammers – to this day.
