Ex-husband of longtime Barstool Sports CEO lists marital home after her alleged affair with married squash coach

Brett Nardini, the banker ex-husband of Erika Ayers Badan, who resigned as CEO of Barstool Sports last month, is listing their marital home in Connecticut, The Post has learned.

The former couple had purchased the nearly 5,000-square-foot property in New Canaan back in August 2018 for $2.07 million, records obtained by The Post show.

The home, which boasts five bedrooms and five baths, has now hit the market for $2.75 million.

The move to put the home up for sale comes three years after Page Six reported Erika’s alleged affair with her then-married squash coach, Yvain “Swiss” Badan, to whom she is now wed.

Pegged as a “picturesque 1925 classical colonial,” the New Canaan home features original hardwood floors, millwork, high ceilings, and four wood-burning fireplaces, the listing notes.

Each room on the first floor offers French doors opening to an expansive porch and a bluestone terrace.

Situated on 2 acres, the primary suite boasts a dressing room and a private balcony with park-like views that boast specimen trees and perennial gardens.

The lower level offers a guest suite with a separate entry.

Melissa Jones of Houlihan Lawrence has co-listed the home with Schuyler Morris of Brown Harris Stevens.

Erika, 48, and Brett, 50, lived at the residence with their two children before their split.

Sources previously told Page Six that the couple had become members of the New Canaan Country Club in Connecticut in the summer of 2020, and that Brett was the one who signed up Erika for squash lessons with club coach, Swiss.

Less than a year later, in April 2021, an insider alleged that they had seen Erika at Barstool Sports’ New York headquarters and “run out and kiss another man [who wasn’t her husband].”

Around the same time, Swiss’ then-wife, Cynthia, reportedly grew suspicious when she observed a pattern: Swiss returning home in the wee hours of the morning after his squash lessons, which typically commenced at 8 p.m.

“Cynthia and Swiss were like the local golden couple,” said an insider of the pair, who wed in 2012. “Every waiter and bartender in town knew them and everyone thought, ‘Cynthia and Swiss are always so happy.’” They added, “They were madly in love.”

Cynthia subsequently filed for divorce.

Erika’s relationship with Brett also ended, before she went public with Swiss. The twosome are now married. Neither Erika nor Swiss have confirmed that their relationship began before they split from their respective spouses.

Meanwhile, on Jan. 15 this year, after over seven years leading Barstool Sports, Erika announced her resignation as CEO of the company, following its troubled sale in 2023.

Last summer, Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool, repurchased the site from Penn Entertainment, a casino and online gambling operator, for a mere $1. This move came after Penn Entertainment had acquired full control of Barstool for approximately $550 million, only to later decide to part ways with the brand.

Reflecting on her tenure, Erika shared in a farewell message to Barstool staff.

“The last two years was all Penn all the time,” she declared. “It was a balancing act and kind of an exercise in futility — trying to generate bets at the same time as protecting a pirate ship while also subtly contorting it to be something more predictable, pacifiable and projectable to match with a casino company. In the last year we sold the company twice. First to Penn for $550M and then to Dave for $1. It seems insane and it was.”

She expressed her belief that Barstool Sports is now back on its rightful course, under Portnoy’s leadership. “A pirate ship with Dave at the helm… I did what I came here to do and more than I could have ever imagined and now it’s your turn to take it forward.”

Concluding her message, Erika expressed her gratitude, stating, “My time at Barstool will forever inspire me. I gave you my all. Thank you for giving me so much more.”
