Everything Madison Prewett and Peter Weber Have Said About Each Other Since Their Bachelor Breakup

What started out as a pretty amicable breakup between Peter Weber and Madison Prewett—just days after their “After the Final Rose” appearance on The Bachelor—is starting to get messy. (And yes, I know the Barb showdown was the epitome of messiness, but this is not about her right now.)

On April 22, Weber basically told his ex to back off after she gave an interview about how his new quarantine relationship with ex-contestant Kelley Flanagan was “confusing” for her. And things only get messier from there.

Here’s everything both the reality stars have said (or implied) about each other since the March 2020 Bachelor finale.

March 13, 2020: The not-so-happy couple announce their breakup on Instagram. They were both lovely and respectful about it.

“Madi, thank you for your patience and unconditional love,” Weber said in his caption. “You’re the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves wholeheartedly. That love is something I feel so grateful to have felt and will take a piece of that with me always going forward.”

He continued, “Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further. Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us. The love and respect I have for Madi will continue to endure.”

Prewett shared similar sentiments. “As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things,” she wrote. “I will always love and respect him. I am convinced our paths were meant to cross and we are both better because they did. @pilot_pete you are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan.”

March 13, 2020: Prewett is spotted hanging out with Selena Gomez, which has very little to do with this post but is a pretty cool flex.

March 14, 2020: Weber sings some pretty pointed Kygo lyrics on his Instagram Stories: “You and me, it was good, but it wasn’t right. And it’ll be hard, but I know I will make it out. Step by step, I’ll move on and get on with life.”

March 23, 2020: Weber may have hinted that the love between him and Prewett was not spread evenly. “You should never want to be with someone that doesn’t want you back the same way,” he advised a fan on Instagram Stories.

March 29, 2020: Prewett shuts down rumors that she is dating fellow Bachelor Nation alum Connor Saeli. “I am just focusing on myself and taking it one day at a time,” she said, according to E! News. No shade to Weber here.

April 8, 2020: Weber talks about the breakup in detail on The Viall Files with Bachelor Nation alum Nick Viall.

“That was tough, we left the stage together, we were supposed to do some press. We just couldn’t do it, we just weren’t in the right headspace,” Weber told Viall. “She went to her hotel to talk to her family for a bit, then she came over to my hotel…. That was mainly just trying to be there for each other.”

He continued, “The second day was when we pretty much spent the entire day together, that was…okay, let’s figure this out. I remember going to her hotel…it was super sad. For probably six hours, we stayed on her bed there, we laughed, we cried, we hugged each other…. It was rough.”

He then admitted that they should have communicated much more before the live show. “Looking back on it, I feel like we should have tried to see each other before we showed up onstage together. The reason we did that is we wanted it to be completely authentic…. I don't know if that was the best choice,” he said.

April 20, 2020: After Weber and Flanagan’s quarantine situation went public, Prewett and a bunch of other contestants from Weber’s season perform a shady version of the “Don’t Rush” TikTok challenge, but set to the diss track “Take Your Man.” The lyrics include, “I can take your mans, if I want to, but lucky for you, I don’t want to.”

It gets shadier. One fan then asked, “Where is Kelley?” and Madison replied, “With our ex lol.” She later walked the sass back in a comment on a Bachelor fan page. “Lolllll it was just a joke!! No shade. All the love for them both,” Prewett reportedly wrote.

April 21, 2020: Finally Prewett is the one who goes on a podcast, and she has a lot to say. She claimed Weber actually texted her about getting back together “two days before he was spotted in Chicago” with Flanagan.

“He was, like, calling me and texting me being like, ‘I miss you, let’s get back together,’” Prewett told Kaitlyn Bristowe on her Off the Vine podcast, according to Us Weekly. “I mean, I think that to me was a little confusing, but I think, like, when you break up and you’re going through a heartbreak and you just came off a show that was emotionally, physically and [every] which way exhausting, everybody handles that differently. Everybody leans on different things.”

Prewett also said on the podcast she was “thrown off” by Flanagan’s pairing up with Weber because the two women were apparently close during filming. “This is when it gets a little interesting. We were best friends, actually. We were inseparable throughout the entire process,” Prewett said. “I was definitely hurt and thrown off by that whole situation. I want the best for the both of them, but I definitely was thrown off.”

April 22, 2020: Weber responds to Prewett’s interview. “You’d think you’d have a little more respect for this situation given we both know there's more to the story,” he wrote in an Instagram comment on a fan page, tagging Prewett.

April 23, 2020: Despite Weber’s response, Prewett has been liking tweets about her interview, though seemingly none that name Weber directly.

April 24, 2020: Former contestant Mykenna posted a throwback video of Weber and a group date playing football on Instagram stories. ‘Shook that I didn’t get drafted today,” she joked.

Weber decided to post the video on his own stories, responding, “Throwback in honor of the NFL draft. Cheering on my girls (that still like me) @mykenna I agree you should’ve been drafted...”

It took some time, but these two seem to be working their way toward Hannah Ann Sluss status...
