The retail giant has become synonymous with self-care, with the hashtag #targetrun boasting over 1.3 billion views on TikTok. Known for selling just about everything you could need, including remarkable dupes for your favorite footwear and skincare. Even celebrities like Mariah Carey and Jameela Jamil understand the unique joy of entering Target with a list three-items-long and leaving with a whole new home decor style. Not to mention their partnership with Ulta aimed at bringing the best of their beauty brands to over 350+ locations by the end of the year. Wondering when items on your list will be on sale? We’ve done all the research so you don’t have to. Ahead, all of the details you need to score major savings at Target, before, during and after Black Friday.

When is Target's Black Friday 2022 sale?

While we don’t quite have all of the details of Target’s 2022 Black Friday deals, we can learn a lot from previous years’ sales. Last year, Target’s Black Friday event began on Sunday, November 21, and ended on Saturday, November 27. The days of a 24 one-day sale are long gone, with the usual discount event running from the Sunday before Black Friday to the Saturday after. If this year follows that pattern, Target’s Black Friday sale should run from at least Sunday, November 20, to Saturday, November 26. Followed swiftly by Cyber Monday of course.

What is Target's Black Friday 2022 sale?

Target has yet to officially announce the details of their 2022 Black Friday sale. A FAQ page on their site simply states that Black Friday is November 25th—which savvy shoppers will already know. With an option to sign up for direct updates, you can be the first to know when further details become available by signing up via email—and bookmarking this page of course. We’ll keep this post live with all the most current info so you can rest assured you’ve got all the best sale intel. While we might have to wait a little longer for those specifics, we don’t have to wait that long to save. Target has announced the return of their Deal Days sales event, but more on that later.

Where is the sale happening?

If 2021’s sale is any indicator, discounts will be available both online and in-stores on its first day. Shoppers should expect online-only sales on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 24, as all stores will be closed.

Is Target open on Thanksgiving, Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday?

Target is not open on Thanksgiving day this year. The brand’s CEO Brian Cornell announced last year that this would be the Target standard moving forward, citing pandemic and overcrowding concerns. The following Friday, however, is a different story. According to Good Housekeeping, Target stores will be open as early as 7 a.m. on America’s most exciting shopping event. You can use their store locator to check hours at your local Target as the day gets closer though.

What is new about the sale this year?

Target has eliminated that tension between beginning your shopping early—while products are still in stock—and waiting to get the very best deals. Target’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee starts extra early this year, on Thursday, October 6, to be exact. For those who are ready to get working on their holiday shopping lists, Target is offering a price adjustment for items bought between then and Saturday, December 24. Last year it started on October 10, so this gives shoppers four more days to score deals. These price adjustments are available on items that drop below your personal purchase price at Target only (in-store and online), so keep an eye on those must-have purchases!

When is the 2022 ad going to become available?

Last year, official ads for the Target Black Friday Sale were released on Monday, November 15, 2021, about six days before the sale went live. If Target follows this same release schedule, then we can expect to see an ad for the Target Black Friday 2022 sale by Monday, November 14, 2022. While you wait for the sale details to arrive, check out the holiday Toy List for 2022 that Target released this month. Created in collaboration with toy company FAO Schwarz, this gifting guide features 50 toys available at Target including plenty of exclusive models.

The Target Black Friday Sale ad from 2021 featured pages of discounts across some of its most popular categories. From savings of up to $210 on a KitchenAid Professional Stand Mixer to $350 off of a 65” 4K Roku TV, the savings on tech and appliances were huge. A $99.99 dual basket air fryer, $179.99 Bose noise-canceling wireless headphones, and a $99.99 Jetson Bluetooth hoverboard were all featured deals as well. When shoppers bought an Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset, they earned a $50 Target Gift Card to use on a future purchase. Target’s assortment of stylish apparel was also included in the sale, with tees beginning at just $4 and select sweaters on sale for 30% off. What is Target Deal Days?

While we eagerly await the official ad drop and all of our hypotheses to be confirmed, shoppers can still save at Target during the store’s upcoming Deal Days event. Confirmed on September 22, 2022, this surprise pre-Black Friday sale will run from Thursday, October 6 to Saturday, October 8. The brand’s official press release promised “hundreds of thousands of deep deals across our entire assortment”. It's no coincidence the Price Match Guarantee also begins on October 6, meaning any sale items you buy during Deal Days could be eligible for a price adjustment if it becomes available for less than what you purchased it for. This limited-time promise expires on December 24, 2022.
