Not much is known about how Davidson and Beckinsale first met, but the two were first spotted leaving a Golden Globes after party together on January 6. “Kate and Pete were flirting at the InStyle party and she was following him around a bit and waiting for him,” a source told Us Weekly. “People approached her and she didn’t want to talk to anyone else.”

On February 1, The Sun acquired photos of the pair holding hands while they left Davidson's stand-up show in Hollywood. While attending a hockey game at New York City's Madison Square Garden on March 3, photographers caught Beckinsale and Davidson openly kissing many times during the sporting event. An audience member shouted Beckinsale's name during his set, and Davidson said "Yes," and "smiled sheepishly" at the suggestion. Though their relationship still remains unconfirmed, the couple isn't hiding how they feel about each other in public.

In February, E! reported that Davidson and Beckinsale's relationship wasn't serious, due to their distance. "They spend most of their time on opposite coasts so it's a casual thing," an E! source explained. "But they are going to keep talking and having fun together." On March 20, PEOPLE reported that the couple seemed to be moving into serious territory, as Davidson joined Beckinsale and her mother Judy Lowe for dinner on the 40th anniversary of her father's death. But on April 24, just over a month later, Beckinsale and Davidson "decided to slow things down."
While the two are still dating, it sounds like they have turned the intensity down: “Pete and Kate got super serious very fast but they’ve decided to slow things down a bit,” the PEOPLE source said. “They’re still dating as of now.”
