Netflix just dropped a first look at Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown’s all-new movie, Enola Holmes. (If you think it sounds like a teenage version of Sherlock Holmes, that’s because it is.)
So, what is Enola Holmes about? And when will the film hit our streaming queue? Keep reading for all the deets.
1. What is Enola Holmes about?
The movie, which is based on Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries book series, takes place in England in the 1800s. It tells the story of Enola (duh), who just so happens to be the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes. When her mother vanishes on her 16th birthday, Enola is thrown into the mystery as she attempts to piece together clues that were left behind.
2. Is there a trailer?
Not yet, but Netflix did release a series of first-look photos. The pics show a first glimpse at Brown, who plays the titular character. While Enola is a complete 180 from Eleven on Stranger Things, we can’t deny the period look suits Brown. The actress is pictured alongside Henry Cavill (Sherlock) and Sam Claflin (Enola’s other brother, Mycroft).
3. Who’s starring in it?
In addition to Brown, Cavill and Claflin, Enola Holmes will star Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Holmes. Other cast members include Fiona Shaw, Adeel Akhtar, Frances de la Tour and Louis Partridge.
4. When does Enola Holmes premiere?
Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date for Enola Holmes. However, the movie is expected to premiere sometime in September, so mark your calendar.
5. Who’s working behind the scenes?
Enola Holmes has a noteworthy crew running the show, including director Harry Bradbeer (Killing Eve) and writer Jack Thorne (His Dark Materials). Brown will also serve as an executive producer alongside Paige Brown (A Time Lost), Alex Garcia (Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Ali Mendes (Pokémon Detective Pikachu) and Mary Parent (The Revenant).
