After she celebrated New Year's Eve alongside her godmother, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus dropped her latest track, "Flowers," on January 13 (a.k.a her ex Liam Hemsworth's birthday 😬). The song, which fans believe is filled with Easter eggs from her past marriage to The Hunger Games actor, officially kicked off her Endless Summer Vacation era and broke major records. "Flowers" not only became the most-streamed song in a single week on Spotify with over 83 million streams but hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five consecutive weeks (and counting!).

"Thankful that 'Flowers' is Number 1 around the world. This song is dedicated to my fans & the steadfast self love I wish for each of you. Forever grateful, Miley," the 30-year-old wrote on Instagram when the song debuted at No. 1 globally.

The song serves as the lead single for Miley's eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation. Here's everything we know about the new album so far, from its track list to its release date.

When does Miley Cyrus' new album come out?

Following her 2023 New Year's Eve Special for NBC, Miley announced that her eighth album, Endless Summer Vacation, is coming out on March 10. Physical CDs and vinyl records are available for pre-sale, and the album will be available to stream digitally.

The pop culture icon is also bringing her famous Backyard Sessions series to Disney+ on March 10, the same day the album comes out. Over the years, Miley has performed stripped-down live versions of hits like "See You Again," "Jolene," and "Angels Like You" through her Backyard Sessions series, so we can't wait for all the Endless Summer Vacation newness to get the same treatment.

The "Flowers" singer dropped a teaser for the Disney+ special on social media, writing, "ENDLESS SUMMER VACATION (BACKYARD SESSIONS) streaming on @DisneyPlus March 10th in celebration of my record release."

Along with the Disney+ special, Miley announced she's also dropping a music video for "River" on March 10. A few days before the album drop, she posted a teaser on Instagram Reels featuring a black and white clip with a snippet of the song. In conclusion: Smilers are being fed on March 10.

What has Miley Cyrus said about the album?

During an interview for her upcoming Disney+ special, the multihyphenate also revealed that the album is divided into two. "When it comes to the sequencing of Endless Summer Vacation, I divided it by two parts: AM and PM to kind of almost represent an act. The AM to me is representing the morning time, where there's a buzz and energy and there's a potential of new possibilities. It's a new day," Miley explained in a short clip posted on Instagram on March 6.

"At nighttime, it feels like there's a slinky, seediness, and kind of a grime, but a glamour at the same time. In the evening, it's a great time for rest, it's a time to recover," she continued. "Or it's a time to go out and experience the wild side. In LA, there's a certain energy to the night and you can feel trouble boil up to the surface and it's very inspiring to me."

Ahead of the album drop, Miley got candid about the inspiration behind "River" with a clip posted to Instagram on March 8. "'River'... it was a time in my life where I was going through just a lot emotionally and personally," Miley said in the video. "And I guess all my songs kind of evolve — they could start as something that was a trouble, like, it just feels like it's an April shower. It never stops raining, and then it started raining down like, love."

The singer went on to describe the song as a "dancefloor banger" that's "f---ing nasty."

As for the album's alleged references to Liam Hemsworth, Miley hasn't made any public comments, but a source recently spilled to People that she is finally ready to reclaim the narrative around their divorce.

Although it's been three years since the split, they claim that Miley has been using the time to "process and heal" and get to a point where she is ready to tell her side of the story. “She's not trying to bash Liam, but she feels like she has every right to own the narrative after everyone was picking her apart after the breakup," the source explained.

“She's the healthiest and happiest she's been in a long time,” they continued. “Everyone was blaming her for the divorce and calling her this wild child, but that wasn't fair. Their relationship and marriage was toxic, and she was heartbroken.”

What is the Endless Summer Vacation tracklist?

What about collaborations with other artists?

Over the years, Miley has dropped iconic collaborations with acts like the Jonas Brothers, Dua Lipa, The Kid Laroi, Joan Jett, and Billy Idol. Fans theorized that a collaboration with her Disney Channel comrade, Selena Gomez might ensue on her upcoming album after Selena used "Flowers" in a TikTok and reacted to Miley's album announcement, but it seems like it isn't in the cards this time around.
